Used Oxidizers

Basically, used oxidizers are second hand units used to process the toxic gas emissions usually produced by industrial plants. By undergoing these emissions in an oxidation process using high temperatures, toxic substances are destroyed before it is released to the atmosphere. Oxidizers are typically used for large industrial processes which include refining of petroleum, paper printing, and other similar applications on industrial scale that naturally produce different types of pollutants like VOC (volatile organic compounds), carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides. There two types of oxidizers categorized based on the type of operation they perform and these are the Catalytic Oxidizers and the Thermal Oxidizers. Thermal oxidizers function using the principle of combustions and it basically utilize high temperatures created through combustion in order to break down the toxic gases before releasing it in the atmosphere.

And depending on the type of the heat recovery system, used oxidizers are categorized as either regenerative thermal oxidizer or recuperative thermal oxidizer. The recuperative-type oxidizers utilize combined regular heat exchanger which is also known as the chief heat exchanger as its primary heat recovery system. The regenerated heat is utilized to preheat the returning exhaust gas flow. There are cases wherein a supplemental heat exchanger or secondary heat exchanger is added in the process after the initial heat exchanger to heat up another solution used for the process. On the other hand, the regenerative type utilizes a group of ceramic transfer heat beds for the process of heat recovery. Apart from its durability, these types of used oxidizers basically have longer life span compared to traditional heat exchangers utilized for recuperative type oxidizers. The set of ceramic heat beds can also offer better and highly improved thermal efficiency compared to its heat exchanger counterpart.

With regenerative thermal oxidizer, the thermal efficiency rating is somewhere between ninety and ninety five percent while the recuperative thermal oxidizer can only provide fifty to sixty five thermal efficiency rating. This improved thermal efficiency rate is translated into energy savings as well as for significantly reduced operational costs of industrial companies. A modified version of the regenerative thermal oxidizers also known as the regenerative catalytic oxidizer uses ceramic coated media covered expensive metal catalysts that assist in the oxidation of the gas flow at relatively much lower temperatures. This type of used oxidizers, with its downgraded operational temperatures, provides much better reductions when it comes to trimming down operating costs. Even with a lot of variety for used oxidizers, you can still find something that will work perfectly for you depending on the industrial processes your company performs. The internet offers a wide collection of information as to where you can find quality and used oxidizers that will suitably match your company's requirements. Different types of oxidizers have different levels of efficiency and utmost performance but the bottom line here is that both types of oxidizers help minimize the risk for pollution while at the same help the company by cutting down operational costs.
